Discover Why Everyone’s Moving to Farmington Hills

Kaftan offers communities perfectly placed to enjoy it all.

Apartments for Rent in Farmington Hills, MI

Not every city gets to be everything at once, but Farmington Hills comes close. It’s suburban without feeling sleepy, diverse without feeling generic, and well-connected without the noise and density that comes with living closer to the city. It’s the kind of place where people put down roots.

Kaftan Communities has been in Farmington Hills long enough to know what renters here are actually looking for. Whether you’re a young professional, a couple, or a household, we’ve got apartment floor plans across three communities to match.

Covington Club Luxury Townhomes

Covington Club is what happens when someone decides that renting shouldn’t mean settling. These are full-size luxury townhomes —1,800 to 1,925 sq. ft. — with cathedral ceilings, skylights, master suites with his-and-hers walk-in closets, whirlpool tub baths, and an attached two-car garage. There’s a full basement too, which means actual storage and space for all your belongings.

The apartment amenities lean hard into the resort side of things: a saltwater pool, whirlpool spa, and landscaped grounds that make coming home feel like being on vacation. These two-bedroom townhouses for rent and three-bedrooms are for people who want the lifestyle of homeownership without the part where the furnace becomes their problem.

Foxpointe Townhouses

Foxpoint is the townhome community that looks like it was dropped into the middle of the woods on purpose. The New England-style architecture, award-winning landscaping, and tree-lined grounds give it a setting that residents consistently describe as peaceful.

The floorplans run from 1,456 to 1,600 sq. ft. across two-bedroom and three-bedroom townhouses for rent. Each features a private entry, in-unit washer and dryer, wood plank flooring, and a private patio. The pool comes with a sundeck and splash pad, which makes summers here truly enjoyable. Covered parking, walk-in closets, and a pet-friendly policy that welcomes large dogs round out an already solid package.

Village Oaks Apartments

Village Oaks is for the renter who wants a quiet, well-kept community without paying for amenities they’ll never use. Tucked into a landscaped setting just minutes from I-275, I-696, and M-5, it manages to feel secluded while keeping you close to everything Farmington Hills has going on.

The 1-bedroom apartment and 2-bedroom apartment floor plans run 700 to 860 sq. ft. — sensible, well-laid-out homes with walk-in closets, intercom systems, and in-unit air conditioning. One thing worth calling out: heat is included in the rent. In Michigan, that’s not a small thing; it’s the kind of detail that makes budgeting a lot more predictable when January rolls around.

Why Choose to Live in Farmington Hills?

Farmington Hills doesn’t make a lot of noise about itself, which is part of the appeal. It’s consistently one of the most livable cities in Oakland County; well-resourced, diverse, and easy to get around. Here’s what makes it worth considering:

Parks & Outdoors

Over 600 acres of public parks, Heritage Park’s walking trails, an archery range, a golf club, and a city nature center. Farmington Hills takes outdoor recreation seriously.

The Hawk Community Center

The former Harrison High School is now a 245,000 sq. ft. community center with a full aquatics center, fitness facilities, a performing arts theater, a makerspace, and childcare. It’s one of the best public amenities in all of Metro Detroit.

Dining & Downtown Farmington

Downtown Farmington’s social district, the Farmington Founders Festival in July, the Farmers and Artisans Market on Saturdays, and a local restaurant scene anchored by spots like the Farmington Brewing Company make the area easy to love.

Metro Detroit Access

I-275, I-696, and M-5 give you clean shots in every direction. Birmingham and Novi are minutes away. Downtown Detroit is under 30 minutes. Farmington Hills is one of the better-positioned cities in the region for people who need to get somewhere regularly.

Questions Renters Ask About Our Farmington Hills Properties

We offer 12-month leases across our Farmington Hills communities, with shorter-term options available depending on the property and what’s currently available.

Terms can vary between Covington Club, Foxpointe, and Village Oak, so the best move is to reach out directly to the community you’re interested in. We’d rather have that conversation upfront than leave anyone guessing.

Yes, all three communities are pet-friendly. Foxpointe in particular is notable for welcoming large dogs, which not every Farmington Hills property will do.

Breed and weight restrictions do apply across the board, so if your dog is on the bigger and more misunderstood side of the spectrum, give us a call before you get too attached to a floor plan.

The list of amenities varies by property:

  • Covington Club: saltwater pool, whirlpool spa, two-car garage, full basement, and cathedral ceilings
  • Foxpointe: in-unit washer and dryer, pool with a splash pad, covered parking, and private patios
  • Village Oaks: heat included in the rent, walk-in closets, and a quiet landscaped setting

Every community page has the full rundown if you want to compare side by side.

More than most people expect.

  • The Farmington Founders Festival draws big crowds in July with music, art, and food.
  • The Saturday Farmers & Artisans Market runs from spring through fall in downtown Farmington.
  • The Hawk Community Center puts on concerts, fitness events, and community programming year-round.
  • Marvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum is exactly as strange and wonderful as it sounds.

There’s always something to do for everyone, no matter the time of day or season.

Head to the page for the community you’re most interested in and reach out from there. Our leasing team will set you up with a private tour at a time that works. If you’re still deciding, we’re happy to walk you through more than one of our communities until you find the best option.
